July 2026 News - Dave Jones

An eventful month, with several big pieces of news, which started with Dave’s 15th audio release - his first as a vinyl album, titled ‘Stratospheric’. At the end of July the album received great reviews in both Prog magazine and the online magazine Jazz Views. The vinyl album is now selling online from Dave’s website, and Elasticstage, and also at Thirtythree/45 record shop in Neath. See the band ‘Stratospheric’ live at Swansea International Jazz Festival on Sunday 6 Sept at 2pm.

Mid-month came the news that Dave had one of his solo piano compositions (‘Paradise Found’) used in the recent Hollywood movie ‘Nuremberg’. It was great to see the credit at the end of the film for Dave, The Gold Leaf Music Library, and Schubert Music Library who were responsible for the placement.

This Sunday 9 August sees Dave’s first ever gig at Brecon Jazz Festival with one of his own bands, ‘Trunk of Funk’ (having played there with numerous other bands and artists over the years). It starts at 6.30pm in The Guildhall, and tickets are available from the festival’s website.
